Return of the Light

Delighted to announce the next COIRE SOIS School of Irish Spirituality workshop: Solas Geal (Return of the Light). Winter Solstice workshop will be on Saturday 19th December at 3-6pm Irish time. We will focus on the energy of the returning, growing light; the manifesting of that which has been germinating in the Dark in preparation for emergence in the Spring, the bringing to light of that which is hidden in us and in the world, the setting of intentions and connecting with Aengus Óg, son of Boann and the Dagda, God of Love. We will also do some further work with our Ancestors.

Since the last blog post, we have truly been in the Dark of the Year; the time of reflection and inner work, and connection with the Ancestors. After a very successful Cailleach workshop last month, we now turn our thoughts towards the coming Solstice and, for those of us in the Northern Hemisphere, the return of the growing Light. Sunrise always brings a feeling of hope and renewal, the opportunity - with the beginning of a new day - of new energy and positive change. With the return of the Light on the Winter Solstice Sunrise, we look forward, despite further months of Winter to come, to longer days and the coming of Spring. This is the time we prepare for renewal of energy and life, and also the time to bring that which is hidden in the dark to light.

This has been a tough year for many, a year where we have all had to change our routines and face challenges in many aspects of our lives. The polarisation which has developed/deepened as a result of our varying responses to these challenges has been very difficult, and has seen groups of friends/families/communities divided.

As the Light returns, with the promise of Spring and new life, let us focus on what we want to manifest; what change we want to see in ourselves, and in the world, over the next Quarter. COVID-19 stopped the world in its tracks, has left many still ill, and some grieving, and created financial difficulty for numerous people. Let us focus on channeling our energy into transforming these challenges into intention for necessary positive change.
