Year 1 Ordinations

Wednesday, 5th of August, in the run-up to the Festival of Lughnasadh, nine students of COIRE SOIS - School Of Irish Spirituality were ordained as Priestesses of the Sacred Land. This very special ceremony was the culmination of a year of work with Irish mythology, Irish language for ceremony, in-person training at the Irish National Heritage Park, Wexford, and written and experiential assignments. It was particularly special, having had to postpone the originally-scheduled date of the 25th of March. The ceremony took place on the beautiful Hill of Uisneach, the very heart-centre of Ireland. We are very grateful to Uisneach staff for facilitating this wonderful experience. It was a very proud moment for me to see this fantastic group of women take on the mantle of their vocation, and become the inaugural members of the COIRE SOIS Sisterhood.

Looking forward to ordaining the remaining students, who could not be with us, at a later date.
